Credits are how prospiq is priced. Instead of a per-seat fee or a per-API-call fee, you pay for the data you actually receive.
The rules
- Verified email: 1 credit
- Verified phone: 10 credits
- Both at once: 11 credits
- No result returned: 0 credits
You're charged on success, not on attempt. If you ask for an email and we can't verify one, you pay nothing for that lookup. If you ask for both and we find only the email, you pay 1 credit, not 11.
Why phones cost more
Phone enrichment is harder and more expensive to do well. Email addresses can be verified with a live SMTP check; phone numbers can't be tested the same way without calling someone. The sources that supply direct dials are smaller, refresh slower, and charge us more per lookup. We pass that cost through honestly rather than pretending phones are as cheap as emails.
Credits in different lookup modes
Single search. One contact, one charge — only when the result comes back.
Bulk upload. Each row in your CSV is treated as a separate lookup. A file with 500 rows might consume anywhere from zero to 5,500 credits depending on how many results come back and whether you asked for phones too. You can preview the cost before processing.
Company search. When you search a company, we show you the people we can find at that domain. Credits are spent only when you reveal a specific person's contact — the search itself costs nothing.
API calls. Same rules. The API returns whether a credit was spent on each request, so you can reconcile your usage.
Where credits come from
- Free tier: 20 credits on signup
- Starter: 500 credits per month
- Growth: 1,500 credits per month
- Pro: 3,500 credits per month
- Custom plans: larger volumes for bigger teams
Credits reset at the start of each billing cycle. They don't roll over month to month on standard plans.
What we never charge for
We never charge for:
- An email that fails verification
- A phone we can't find with confidence
- Catch-all domain results we won't return to you
- A bulk upload row that returns nothing
- Retries on the same person within a short window — if you re-query someone you just looked up, we don't re-charge
What credits don't cover
A few things don't consume credits at all:
- Browsing your saved lists and history
- Editing or organizing contacts you've already enriched
- Exporting your own data as CSV
- Adding team members (separate add-on, not credit-based)
- Pushing previously-enriched contacts to your CRM
